Road Runner
His nemesis is coming up later.
No, they weren't together.
But I did see another Road Runner scuffling with a Hawk on the side of the road in competition for some small critter on the side of the road. The Hawk won and flew away with whatever it was. But there were a few feathers flying!

Good shots Chief. In the 20+ years I have lived in SE Arizona I have exactly one keeper shot of a Roadrunner. Along with the Caracara that Roadrunner is my jinx bird

Thanks, Jack! We were lucky to get the shots! We were parked on the side of the road watching/photographing a huge flock of Sandhill Cranes with a bunch of Snow Geese and several species of Ducks in a big pond. The Road Runner snuck out of the weeds almost next to the car and went trotting down the road at a pretty fast pace. I don't think anyone else even saw him! I think the second photo is a different one.
If you want to see and photograph Caracaras you should make a road trip to Aransas NWR on the S.E. Texas coast! Several of them hang out there.

Wow, what a neat bird. Such pretty colors. I really like the second one gazing into the bush. Thanks for sharing.
