Yes, 2048px is 'perfect'. If you'd like a longer discussion of how and why, see: Recommended resizing parameters for digital images

It's not like we can see details beyond the pixel resolution of our screens.
I post on Flickr, and then post pictures from there to here with the Share tool. It's a lot easier, and you can add text between the pictures.

I generally go as small as possible.
Same for sending to my wife to post on her FB page.

If you want people to appreciate your photo especially on FB 2048. any larger will get compressed. Same size for here but also check the box to send the original and we get to see and appreciate it to the nth degree.

To appreciate my photos, pixel peeping is not necessary.
I want people to appreciate the composition and subject. If "Send Original" is checked the first thing that the nth degree pixel peepers look at is exif and ignore the photo. I know this from comments when original was posted that were regarding exif data not anything to do with the photo.

I agree completely!! I post small enough to see, but too small to pixel peep. The picture is what counts, not all that other stuff.

I use 1920, which is the size that my camera club wants us to use.
I don't think that it matters, s long as it is small.

I save everything 1500px on the long side. Easy. No thinking required.
