I'm looking for a used wide angle lens for my d500. Any ideas on where to look?

Right now Tokina has a refurb sale and you can find their excellent 11-16 f2.8 or if you prefer OEM then MPB, KEH and Adorama should have new or used the Nikon 12-24 f4, a great wide angle for cropped sensors. I use mine even with my
D610.

I use a Tokina 17-35, bought used for my D700. I love it

I have been looking for (preferably) Nikkor F-mount DX lenses for a project I am working on. My local stores have mostly very well-used or quirky lenses in their cases for sale. I was fortunate to buy a really nice 16-80mm f/2.8-4 lens for sale here last month for a good price. Oh...and they have apparently returned all (?) of their unsold new F-mount inventory to Nikon.

Nikon has sent notice of numerous short-duration sales of both new and refurbished products over the past six weeks or so. I would suggest that you go to NikonUSA's website and sign up for their notification emails. This may be the best way to find what you are looking for over the next weeks or months.

Are you looking for a wide lens or for a "really wide" lens? Do you have a specific application in mind? One reason I added a full-frame camera was to facilitate wide-angle options. It may be easier to just add a full-frame camera and lens if your goal is really wide.

I have a Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 (IF) DX ATX PRO lens with Nikon Fmount that you could have for $200. It's like new, used a few times, then upgraded to FX.

PM me if interested.

That's a great lens at a great price. I have one or I would be all over that! I use it on a D500 and really like it!

Ebay has ebay refurbished. Roberts Camera has a number of lenses at good prices. KEH or MPB both have good quality lenses. I also have a D500. So I have had some of the same issues.

I have been looking for (preferably) Nikkor F-moun... (show quote)

Ive had NO problem finding lenses down to 10 and 11mm. No need to dabble with FF for just the need of a wide lens. Nikons 10-24 is the current King of the Hill among wide lenses that can fit a filter. Lenses too bulbous to fit a filter are a small separate category.

I got the Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD for my Nikon D500. The reviews I read stated that it's the best ultra wide angle zoon lens for cropped sensor cameras. It's very sharp and has vibration compensation. I think Canon is the only other company that has stabilized ultra wide angle zoom lenses. The Tamron is also weather sealed.
