The "Royal Mile" is a city street that goes for a distance of about one Scottish mile which is a little bit more than our mile. It's a major sight to see, essentially starting at Edinburgh Castle and ending at Holyrood House, the city's major icons.

One side of my family goes back to Scotland, but not to Edinburgh. I've always wanted to go there to see "our" castle, but I'm not too taken with cities, and all the tours go to the cities.
That said, these pictures are really enjoyable and, IMHO, very good.
