Stopped to spend a day in Harpers Ferry West Virginia to see some historic Americana. Its located at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. America's first national armory was located here, John Brown's assault on Harpers Ferry and the armory was a catalyst for the American Civil War, many civil war battles fought here that led to the destruction of the town and armory and there are many other historical facts about this beautiful old city.

Its West Virginia and nothing is level, even downhill seems like walking uphill But its a very old, historic and beautiful town always worth a visit. Cheers All and Happy Thanksgiving!

I have always wanted to get to Harpers Ferry. Your picture tour here is really, really good. I'm going to make it a priority to go there.

I like your photos a lot. Is the armory itself in your photos somewhere?

Thanks Dennis, the armory is now a dike along the Potomac, totally destroyed with a few remnants and building footprints left...

Well, POOP! My life is over.

As a little kid recall watching the old movie, Santa Fe Trail, 1940, depicting Errol Flynn and Ronald Reagan capturing John Brown, Raymond Massey, at the Harpers Ferry Armory.

Thank you. Trust me on this, I will be/AM over it now. I am used to disappointing news such as Winky Dink no longer being on television nor is Kukla Fran and Ollie. I will be fine.

Santa Fe Trail was almost as good as, The Charge of the Light Brigade.

Have a great day sir.

Harpers Ferry is about an hour away from me. I've been meaning to visit for a while, but now that I'm retired, I can make that a realization. Your photos have inspired me to pack up for a day trip. Thanks!

Wonderful tour! And you accomplished it without people in the shots.
