I have come to the conclusion coach turned politician is a bully. It the nature of the coaching job. Look at Tuberville and Jordan for examples.

I wonder how many other coaches/Jock politicians fit that conclusion.

Holding up promotions due to political views isn’t a good move IMO. On the other hand the DoD should not be giving tacit support to such d******e subjects as a******n.

He is 100 percent right. LOYD Austin has decreed that the U.S. government will reimburse soldiers and their families for travel costs to get an a******n. Trouble is by law the federal government is not allowed to fund a******ns in any way shape or form so the order is illegal.
Other Republicans who are mad at Tuberville agree that he is right on principle they just dont approve of the method. Everyone should respect that he is willing to stand on principle regardless of the personal cost.

What other move would you suggest he take? Austin will never listen to reason unless he is made extremely uncomfortable for the position he is taking. It is morally reprehensible and against federal law.

Like I said. The DoD should not be giving tacit support to such d******e subjects as a******n. Austin should reverse his decision.

I agree. Thats why I support Tuberville.
There is a War in Israel, Ukraine and hopefully not in Taiwan. It would be nice if our Military was not c*********d.
Turbeville is right. Why should U.S. citizens pay the air fair for employees of the U.S. government. Let them pay their own way. As far as promotions go, they can be done one at a time very expeditiously.

Not true the Hyde Amendment is only applicable to departments of Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education from what I understand

According to wikipedia
"
The original Hyde Amendment was passed on September 30, 1976, by the House of Representatives, with a 312–93 v**e to override the veto of a funding bill for the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare (HEW).[4][5][6][7] It was named for its chief sponsor, Republican Congressman Henry Hyde of Illinois.[3] The measure represented one of the first major legislative gains by the United States anti-a******n movement following the 1973 Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade.
Congress later altered the Hyde Amendment several times.[3] The version in force from 1981 until 1993 prohibited the use of federal funds for a******ns, "except where the life of the mother would be endangered if the fetus were carried to term".[8] On October 22, 1993, President Clinton signed into law the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 1994.[9] The Act contained a new version of the Hyde Amendment that expanded the category of a******ns for which federal funds are available under Medicaid to include cases of rape and incest.[10]
It bans the use of federal funds. That is the important fact. Austin is wrongly allowing the use of federal funds under the pretense that paying for t***sportation is not paying for the a******n. That is a crock. Nothing in the amendment says that it does not apply to the military. It clearly says no federal funds except for narrow exceptions for the life of the mother and rape or incest. What you are referring to is the changes in the law from 1994 that allows the departments of human services, education and related agencies to use funds for those three exceptions.

It would be nice if Austin complied with the intent of the Hyde amendment. If he did the military promotions would not be a problem. That's on Austin and the Biden administration.
