The best?
Depends on what you want it for and how much you want to spend.
Give us more info.
What do you have now?
What do you like to shoot?
What's your experience level?
What's your budget?
Hasselblad make pretty good cameras but you'd still need a lens or three:

It's the cook not the pans, but it's nice to have pans you are comfortable with. (Yes, I've read your profile)
That depends on your budget and if you are professional or just what, not near enough information.
the best for $100? the best for $1000? or the best for an unlimited supply of $$$?
I have the T2i and love it. I hope to update to the 7d in a few months.

I have a lot of lenses from back in the late 60's. They all still work with the Nikons of today. That is why I shoot Nikons. Do you have any lenses you want to keep?
Erv
Nikon...you will be happy you did
You can spend from $500.00 up to $5000.00...give us a window in between for a DSLR!
I always tell people who ask me that, to figure out what they want to photograph first, get the lens or lenses which will help you do what you want, then find the box to put on the back of the lens.
The differences in image quality of the cameras of today is not that much...but having the best possible glass in front of the box will vastly improve the quality of your images.

Follow advise in responses above: And I predict FUN.
People want advise on a new camera but don't mention what kind of camera...point&shoot, bridge camera or DSLR, not to mention the price range, what are we supposed to say? Mabe we are supposed to guess what their looking for.
I am looking to spend about 2000 I like to shoot landscape and people , right now I have a sony syber shot p&s. I am very imtimidated by how good some of the photos I see on here and I want to be able to capture some of the same.

Do you want to go into a bridge camera or a DSLR with lenses? Probably the same cost to start with. But you will want to get lenses with the DSLR.as you grow with the hobby.
