Sharing a snowy persimmon meal... birds of a different feather!

An unusual photo opportunity presented to me several years ago. It had come a significant snowfall at my home, and the snow was fairly deep! (Approximately 14 "). I looked out a window, and saw some very unusual visitors for our location. A flock of Cedar Waxwings (of which I have only have had visit 3 times over the years, total that I know of). And they were hungry, (obviously they were quite hungry, to let me get fairly close). There was also this robin...
The robin knew what to eat, but the waxwings didn't... So the robin showed one of the waxwings how to eat a ripe persimmon, still hanging on the tree.
The waxwing tried a bite...
Then the rest of its flock joined the feast! Flock contained at least 15 very happy waxwings.

It was quite interesting to observe the two different species interact. Starting with the 1st waxwing watching the robin eat the persimmon. It sampled a bite, then called over the rest! Glad you enjoyed it, too!
Wonderful set (story and photos)!
