I wonder with this latest Global Shutter hoopla, how would the pioneer stop action genius
and scientist Harold Edgerton would receive this advanced technology. My guess is he would
embrace it and know it's highly specialised applications. Just saying.

It's amazing what he accomplished back in his day.

Harold Edgerton would be dissapointed that his electronic flash invention isn't the only way to stop action.

Edgerton was not a photographer. Tha a9III is for photograhy. As an illustrative example, Leo Fender was not a musician or player.

He would note it with mild curiosity. Global shutters were in general use in his time.
"Embrace it" ? Doubtful he would even care about a chatzke that did nothing for him. I think you are overlooking that Edgerton did not read UHH.
The a9III "news" is typical normal fodder for gwilliam6 as just a photo teacher at some flyover school somewhere. Edgerton OTOH was an actual Cambridge, MA, MIT engineer and research scientist.
