Does anyone have an entry level DSLR with kit lens for sale? It doesn't matter if it is Canon or Nikon. I am looking for my son and daughter-in-law. They want to get a used DSLR for my 15 year old granddaughter.

Yes, how much? I just went over to the EOS R system and have a 6D full frame or an 80D cropsensor. I can put together a 2 lens set of a 50 f1.8 for dim light and a mid range zoom for general daylight work. I also have a 7DII, 5DIV & 90D but those are bigger, heavier and more expensive.
I will make up an inventory list tonight, I need it for my "trading" at the camera store anyway. I could also work it so she gets a light tripod and a small flash also.

I do have my first dslr, a Sigma SD-10 and a couple of lenses. That set would be older than she is. But that Foveon sensor produces very nice colors.

I will probably not be on much until Monday. Our daughter is here for two days to take some postgrad tests at the med-school then she goes back to LA County and her job as a Pediatrician at Harbor UCLA. We won't get to have her home on Thanksgiving, as one of the new kids she will be working the holiday and I have to spoil her while I can.

Look on Ebay, KEH, MPB, or B&H for a used Canon EOS SL1 with the Canon 18-55mm lens. This camera is very small, light and easy to use as a beginners camera. Because it is an older model, the price should be very reasonable, in the $100-200 range. Good luck!

James, I have a Canon Rebel T2i EOS 550D for sale. It's an older camera so it doesn't have the latest tech but it has more than the basics (you can use it on automatic or learn/use the controls that boost creativity), yields an image that has better resolution than a cell phone, is fairly light to hold, AND it comes with two lenses (the standard 18-55mm and a zoom 75-300).

(But wait; there's more!) It comes with the original box, printed manual, battery and battery charger, lens and body caps.

This is an excellent DSLR starter because it has wide applications. A 15-year-old could experiment and if she takes to DSLR she can upgrade with real experience. If she just doesn't like a camera compared to a phone, the entry cost is definitely manageable.

My Canon is in excellent condition, looks fantastic, operates perfectly and -- did I mention -- it's light to hold.

I recently checked the price for the camera and each of the lenses for used equipment on KEH and they totaled almost $400.

I'm downsizing and am willing to sell the kit and kaboodle for $150 plus shipping.

This is an outstanding kit for her to start with. And at a great price.
My daughter has had this exact gear since 2012 (HS graduation gift) and though she is now an MD and can afford more she is content with it. Besides she says as a Pediatric Resident at a major LA county hospital she doesn't really have time for photography now.

I have an Olympus e520 (4/3 format) with 2 kit lenses. I bought this about 10 years ago for a trip that was cancelled due to health reasons. It is basically new (about 100 clicks, just to test it out before trip) and comes with strap, extra batteries, UV filter, SD and CD cards). I will let it go for $135 + shipping.
