The beautiful Tundra (Whistling) Swans are on their way to winter in the frozen Tundra. They used to be called the Whistling Tundra do to the Whistling sound they make. By sound it is fairly easy to tell the Tundra from their larger Trumpeters.

The Juveniles are gray in color with a red-ish beak. the Adults are white with a black beak. Note most of the adult Tundra swans have a Yellow path next to their eye.

Thank you Mike. I toned down the exposure a bit (previous outing shown overblown whites on them)

Jack
I meant to ask you if you or anyone has seen the Elegant Trogan at Madera?
I have seen any recent sightings on EBird.

Thanks
