Archie's area of expertise is putting people down, including some of our founding fathers.

Like you libs worship expert Greta T r****d who is so expert in c*****e c****e. Yet you all make policy on her every word.
Clauser knows more about c*****e c****e in his little fingernail than the entire lib universe that you worship.

Here's the counter argument: https://skepticalscience.com/clauser-latest-climate-denying-physicist.html

The simple fact is that earth is warming - both Arctic and Antarctica ice is shrinking - I know in some areas it has grown, but the sub-surface ice is reducing rapidly. The decrease in ice will and has increased ocean volume. Volume increase = ocean rise. The rise can affect flooding worldwide; weather change, and so on. Is it natural, or is it CO2 - it doesn't matter - it's happening.

I've read the reports and have discussed in depth people that go to both polar areas and their comments confer the reports.

It does matter why it is happening. If it is natural then going carbon neutral merely means that we hurt the economy without doing a thing to help the climate.

The reason for c*****e c****es matters. Pretending the reason is irrelevant is ridiculous. Without having a serious discussion about the cause of c*****e c****es, and both the consequences of the changes, and of the political choices we are making to supposedly prevent those changes we will not only fix any problems, we will cause serious unintended consequences.

Do you really want to destroy the economy by trying to eliminate co2 and then find out that it didn't help the initial problem, but that worse yet, it hurt plant growth and ultimately led to a worldwide famine. Because like it or not, that's the direction that a lot of climate alarmists are sending us with their co2 bull.

I am a William Buckley type of conservative. I do not consider Archie and RaQ's lunatic ravings to be conservative.

Not too long ago there used to be a fair bit of old school Conservatives in the party but they've all been hunted out by the new ... Grand Old Trumpies .

I guess I will have to go back and read some of your old posts, because I haven't seen anything that would have made me think that you were a William Buckley type conservative. My apologies if that's the case.

[quote=btbg]I don't disagree with you at all. My point was directed to Arch's comment that the c*****e c****e is a h**x. It most certainly is not.

Once we determine that there is change then we look at the cause; and the cause as you point out is the CO2 that we started putting out with the use of f****l f**ls with the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

I retired in 2017 after 20 years as a specialist in utilities and life science. While we and Europe were trying to cut back on CO2, India and China were weekly adding more coal plants. Unfortunately, we and Europe can't do it alone.

While the t***sfer to electric vehicles is noble, the problem remains that the electricity has to be generated somewhere; solar and wind farms can generate some, but not near enough.

It was the conclusion of many of us that the best option was nuclear, which ironically many of the people pushing for electric cars are dead set against. Ultimately fusion is the best solution, but that is years or even decades away.
There is a safer nuclear fission technology that needs more development; that is, in theory, thorium reactors. But do to the stigmatism of "nuclear" is not getting the attention it deserves.

Kerry has admitted that what we do will probably not move the needle without China and India on board so I think it matters (the cause) as we should not bear extraordinarily high hits to our economy while other major players keep burnin’ that coal.
