I own a Sony A6400 and OSS lens 3.5-5.6/18-135 that I dropped and now it doesn’t seem to focus properly. I looked up a few repair shops and it may cost upwards of $500 to repair. If you have used someone to repair your Sony gear, who would you recommend? Thank you in advance!

That lens is a disposable, so just replace it.
Since the focus system within the body has zero moving parts and no alignment issues, odds are really excellent that just replacing only the lens should be a complete repair if focusing is the only area harmed by the fall.
BTW the older 18-55 OIS kit lens is far less fragile cuz its not collapsible and its not PZ. Acoarst, if you dont drop it, the PZ is great.
Thank you for that. My lens does not have PZ. The first one I had did but this one does not. I looked up the cost of replacing the lens and it is $648. The 18-105 f/4 is $548. My other option is a prime lens or the 16-50 kit lens. Thoughts?

Sorry I misread your lens spec. That is a more valuable lens. But I suspect the "replacement" prices you quoted are actually for brand new ? Therefor they would not be replacement but *renewal* prices. Replacement is when used replaces used. Check KEH for *replacement*. Cost is about $350.
Yes, that was the new price. Actually, KEH has it for $284 (bargain price) up to $382 for like new So. I think that is the answer. Way cheaper than sending it for repair. Thanks!

Sure. Ebay is a huge market for repair parts for items that arent worth the labor involved in repairing them.

So the hill and river folk agree!
That’s actually a good idea. Thanks! I ordered a “Like New-“ lens from KEH

Buying an entire broken component is probably less expensive that buying a single part from the manufacturer - if they are even willing to sell it.

KEH and MPB are very good sources of "like new" gear.
