I remember a similar scene from Dragnet many years ago. A man was reporting his stolen hot rod, and he knew all the mechanical details, but he had no idea what the license plate number was.

Man: Officer, my wife is missing.

Officer: How tall is she?

Man: I guess 5' something. Maybe 5' 6.

Officer: Weight?

Man: Well, not slim, but not really big.

Officer: Color of eyes?

Man: Mmm. I never really noticed. Probably blue, but maybe green. Probably not brown.

Officer: And what she wearing the last time you saw her?

Man: I think she was wearing a blue dress. Maybe it was a red dress. She could have been wearing black slacks.

Officer: How about the color of her hair?

Man: Well, that changes all the time, so I’m not sure.

Officer: Would she have taken a car?

Man: Oh, yes, definitely. She’s driving my 2021 high performance Audi with 560 HP. It has a six-speed automatic transmission and a 6.3 liter V-12 engine. It also has the Z51 super performance package, larger than normal aluminum wheels, special light gray paint, GT bucket seats, GPS navigation, and a slight scratch on the driver’s side door.

Officer: Don’t worry, sir. We’ll find your car.

Nice one Jerry. Motto of the joke is we have to observe our wives more.
