I so enjoy your pictures. my main concern is that you might at some time become the main dish on some animals dinnerplate, I expect that you are exposed to some danger to get your pictures which I see as being in a class of their own. THANK you!
Poul.

Life has many dangers! These days I’m glad I live in a small mountain town and not a large city. Honestly I would be more afraid in a big city with lots of unpredictable people…..

These are in Kenya. in Amboseli there is a preserve area you pay more to go in but you can get out of the vehicle in that area. If these elephants decided to charge there would be no getting in a vehicle to get away. We stay close to the vehicle and the elephants usually just ignore you! In the Masai Mara you can not get out of the vehicle except in designated breakfast areas. A tree is a designated spot!!! Since you can’t get out to get a lower more eye level shot they have made the lay flat door you see to get lower. About the only animal they say get up from the door is a young male lion. They are very curious and while not coming to hurt you, may if they walk right up to you reach up, like any cat, to paw at you and it could become a bad thing!!

Our oldest son spent about a half year in Kenya as an engineer intern. He enjoyed being there. They were working on a water project on the border between some Masai and Hutu (if I am remembering correctly) lands. We never took advantage of the opportunity to visit him in Kenya.

Again, thanks for the pictures. --Richard

You continue to excel on just the right shot and of course, I loved Africa. I was not as fortunate to get as close to the animals but I was not on a photo safari. I was with friends, yet managed some decent shots--nothing close to yours though. I continue to love them.

Thank you. It is expensive to go on a good photo tour, but worth the money. It took me a very long time to decide it was ok to spend that much on a trip…..
