I have posted images from the Tropical Park here in Miami before. It is my favorite park and yesterday morning was a very pleasant one with a soft breeze from the NE that was cool enough to make me feel comfortable. In summer, unless I travel you will rarely see me with a camera.

It called my attention a series of barricades that made my arrival to the part of the park where I wanted to photograph somewhat difficult. I was told it was a marathon but I did not know why it was been held there or why the traffic was interrupted. By the time I arrived where I wanted to be it was slightly passed 6:45 AM. The light as expected was soft and kind of directional. I knew I was going to have the opportunity of photographing front lighted, side lighted and even backlit subjects. I knew beforehand that the camera, the Olympus EM-D 10 Mk II could handle the dynamic range so HDR shooting was not necessary. No tripod, IBIS was good enough and for those new to photography IBIS means in body image stabilization. Dynamic range means the number of f stops the camera can handle from the bright to the dark areas where details will be seen in a print and that is a very basic description of dynamic range.

I shot at base ISO which is 200. I varied the apertures between f7.1 and f16. No filters and I have the tendency to underexpose by 0.3 stops to get some details in the sky. I had in many of the images a cyan cast that I corrected the best I could in post. OM Workspace, the proprietary editor from OM Digital was my RAW data editor with final touches to the images with Photoshop or Affinity Photo. I saw many birds in the park so next time I will take a tele zoom. This is the time of year when the Egyptian geese shows up at the park and stays there till the end of April. By mid April I love to come to the park to photograph the beautiful sunsets that can be seen from here.

I used only one lens, the Olympus Zuiko 12-40 f2.8 Pro, a great optic. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did when I shot them.

I like these a lot! The stillness and beauty disturbed by sweat and labored breathing! :-)
