Thought I might look for a lumix d200 for a light weight carry camera with a good reach instead of always carrying one of my heavier Nikon DSLR’s all the time. Comments?

If you are serious about IQ, move up to a 1 inch sensor ....with a Zeiss lens ....
Lumix is a product of Panasonic. Not worth it. Keep away. Poor quality.
There are many shirt pocket compact cameras reasonably priced that are better. Sony and Nikon come to mind.

What lens do you carry on your Nikon? If you are considering changing systems, why not just consider changing lenses? I've taken the opportunity to try some lighter weight lenses that I thought would never be suitable for me. Turns out that some of them work just fine, save a significant amount of weight, and I'm still shooting the same camera that I carefully chose and love.

Yes the fuzzy200 has a 1/2.3" sensor, also it will not fit in your pants. Bridge Cameras are shaped to look like a DSLR which they certainly are not.
I have a Panasonic TZ100 and it has a 1" sensor and will do as many things as a 3 ring circus, a mired of special performance setting, still and video also video bursts that give useful single frames.

https://amateurphotographer.com/review/panasonic-lumix-dmc-tz100-review/In some countries the TZ100 is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS100.

That would be the Sony RX100vii. In the serious cameras that are pocket sized, it is the top of the heap in both price and image quality.

IIRC that is already a 1" sensor (and a "Leica labeled" lens).

The FZ200 is a superzoom bridge camera with a 1/2.3" sensor.

I second the SONY RX100 VII. The best bridge camera. Have taken it from Antarctica to Namibia
with great results. 24-200 lens. If purchasing also get Alexander White's book on the camera.
Very well written and it covers everything!

I know it is.
My comment was aimed at User ID who thought it might have a 1" sensor. He may have been thinking about the TZ 100 (ZS 100 in the US).
I third the RX100M7. Great camera.
On the other hand, the OP mentioned the FZ200. I had one, and it was a decent camera, took nice images and had a decent zoom range of 600mm, 35mm eq.. The FZ300 is a better version of the same camera. But if overall quality and the expense of some zoom range, then the RX100M7 is the way to go, assuming the budget isn’t a factor. The ZS200 does beat it with a slightly longer zoom range, and it’s less expensive.
