I'm officially designated as a "travelling Vet" which allows me to use various VA hospitals, pharmacies and clinics wherever I travel. It works pretty well. For the most part, they all bend over backwards to help me with my health needs, country wide. Not perfect, but pretty good!

If it were not for the VA I would not be able to afford a medicine that lists for around 20000.00 PER MONTH. Most of the doctors I deal with also work at a little place down the road called STANFORD. My only regret is listening to VA bad publicity and waiting to sign up. Like others here have said, my care has been great!!!

Our local one has many doctors that speak only 'passable' English, so difficult to discuss symptoms with. Otherwise a valuable resource.

Great idea! My wife retired from the State Employees Insurance Board and has great insurance, so I rarely go to the VA, but did use them before we were married in '93. In spite of a few flaws, they are still a great benefit. No more than any of us deserve. Many shed blood and have lasting effects from their time in the military.
