My pleasure!! I was fortunate to see LH&R at Birdland twice and a few concerts. I still have their original album on vinyl (in a box somewhere ). I preferred Annie Ross to Bevan. They are all Amazing groups!! I don't know of anyone on the current music scene who can compare.

Totally agree Mark, never went to Birdland but did take my wife to the Copa back in the mid-60's as we went to NYC for our honeymoon, stage side table and my wife's favorite, Peggy Lee, was fabulous. There's isn't much out there today that I would care to see...a lot of it is all show and no substance. My daughter sings locally and does the big bands, 50's-60's and some doo-wop and she loves many of the MT songs. Cheers!

It is cool to have a daughter who performs. I once took my two daughters to hear Chuvk Mangione at the Paramount in NYC. I enjoyed it, but they could not wait until it was over. They were 8 and 10. Bad idea Dad!!

Really fell in love with them in the late 70’s and 80’s.

In my opinion, one of the best ever, Jazz, Pop, Contemporary vocal groups of all time, the Manhattan Transfer, is calling it quits after 50 years. They are currently on their 50-year, farewell tour and will no longer perform live. A polished, professional vocal group that makes any genre' of music sound so much better. Their voices, harmony, professionalism, energy, originality and music has crossed many boundaries of music. In addition, they have combined for 11 Grammy awards, all well deserved.

I have been lucky enough to see them three times in concert and always, always a truly class act and sad I won't be able to see one of their last concerts. AND for those so inclined and like Jazz (Markngolf ) I've attached a YouTube video of their North Sea Jazz Festival as a sampling of their music for your enjoyment. 1987. Cheers all!

Wife saw them in concert. 50 years .... WOW! Do you know if the original people were performing for all those 50 years? Or did they change over time, due to attrition?

Groups like Celtic Thunder and Celtic Woman change people out every few years.

Thanks bobbyjohn, the original members were;

Tim Hauser, original member and founder of MT in 1969, sadly, died of heart attack in 2014
Allan Paul, original member to present
Janis Seigel, original member to present
Laural Masse', original member, severely hurt in car crash in 1979

Cheryl Bentyne, replaced Laural Masse' after the accident in 1979 to present
Trist Curless, replaced Tim Hauser in 2014 to present

A few stand-ins while some of the original member had various medical issues but basically its still the same fabulous group....Cheers
