I like shooting on this field because of the lighting.
Nikon D4 paired with a 300mm 2.8 & 70-200 2.8.
Auto white balance
Auto iso (Usually around 10,000)
Pics. cleaned up with Topaz Denoise and Topaz Sharpening.

1/1000 @ 2.8

Nice series Jules. The lighting in the stadium was tops for high school! Nailed the action nice and tight and very clean, sharp and vibrant for a night game.. You are superb with your 300mm! I rarely take my 300mm f2.8 to football games, mostly my 400mm f2.8. My 300mm will see some basketball action very soon! Football season is nearly over and time for the winter sports.

Great update!
Rick

Thanks Rick for the nice words.

I’m getting used to the 300 as I can go anywhere on the sidelines. Like right next to the coaches and nobody ever said move or get out of the way. I am lucky in that respect. Funny thing is the lens focuses faster with the D500 than with the D4. Of course the D4 is a full frame so image quality is tops. The 500 is great also as long as you fill the frame. Very very little cropping.

Very nice. Glad you are back in the swing of things. Did you make the whole game? I need to start doing some B&W with the rest of my photos. Looked at your gallery on Max, Excellent as always. Thanks BE SAFE!!

I like the b/w also. A lot of players like it too, especially basketball.

I have had only 1 b&w sell from Maxpreps from my limited exposure of using those sort of photos. I'm adding more but I notice that some of my b&w pictures are bought as color, I'm assuming they have LR, PS or something comparable!

Most of my sales are basketball, a few for football but not that many.

My football sales are my highest out of all the sports over the 3 seasons. Basketball is maybe 10% of my football sells for both boys/girls teams. Way too many photographers at the basketball games giving it for free or at a fraction of what maxpreps charges. Soccer and Baseball are usually prepaid and I usually get sells from the opposing teams. I'll be studying your Basketball images to hopefully crack the drought
