Larry, I looked at your work and have to say that is superb, but now when I see the name "Imagemeister" it won't be your work I remember, but rather, your needless (and elitist) remark to a man who went on a "bucket shop trip" to a place he and his wife had always dreamed of going; I think in large part to honor her. He shared this with us and it doesn't make one whit of a difference if the image was taken with Nikon Z-9 or a Kodak 110.

Oh my goodness. I have looked at all kinds of videos and pictures of Machu Picchu for so long and that is a real beauty..
It's nice that you finally made it there and got that photo!!! I hope you show us more of that fascinating place.

And maybe one you've had on your list, too. Given the active itinerary and travel arrangements, I decided to go smartphone-only. I have an Apple iPhone 14 Pro and sometimes enhance it with a XenvoPro wide-angle/macro lens. Posted also in the smartphone subforum.

This is Machu Picchu. My wife and I wanted to vacation there when we married in 1973. She got pregnant and the doctor forbade her from travel that distance and altitude. We never made it. But, here I am, fifty years later, now solo, fulfilling a dream.

SOOC, as this was taken only earlier today, and I'm now resting up in my hotel room.

I hope no one thought my post meant I was tired of looking at pictures of Machu Picchu. NO. I could look at them forever and never tire of them. I just meant I really love this picture.

I don't want to roil the waters. As I tried to explain in my original commentary, I made a purposeful decision to leave my Nikon DSLRs at home for this trip. On a previous trip, I had several experiences where my phone took a better SOOC shot than did my D7500. Since I also have the latest Lightroom, ON1 and Luminar NEO image software, I think I can pretty well make any necessary adjustments when I arrive home. I doubt all but the most experienced and professional photographers could determine a difference. I'm not shooting for National Geographic or to sell my photos (although I've done so in the past). My intent in posting this photo was simply to express my joy at fulfilling a long-held dream with visual evidence.

Thank you all for your wonderful and kind comments.

Love the shot. I was there 15 years ago and took an amazing amount of pictures. Magical place.
