One of the highlights of our visit to the Marriott Grande Ocean on Hilton Head Island is their sponsorship of a local rescue organization. This small group does wonderful work. The birds you see pictured have all been injured in some way that prevents their return to the wild, except for the hawk. That bird was at another rescue organization that allowed the bird to become imprinted to humans. Now it cannot exist in the wild. Regulatory officials required the organization that allowed the imprint to surrender the bird.

Wonderful story and captures Mike. I would have enjoyed visiting there very much. You look like you got pretty close.

I have been to similar events, with rescue groups showcasing sick and endangered raptors.

Great set, Mike. I have seen rescue birds rehabbed and released into the wild. It's a fulfilling sight.

Nice set Mike
I have been looking for a place like this is Delaware, or near Delaware.
We "saved" 2 screech owls that had flown into cars or trucks, that I had found along the road. One liven in my studio foe the better part of a year before we handed him off to a Wildlife center. Both of them had lost an eye.

Thanks, Jim. Marriott gives them an indoor/outdoor pavilion to display the birds and the handlers take them through the crowds and allow you to carefully approach them on their roosts.

Thanks, Bill, that is how three of those birds were acquired.
