The cold front coupled with a full moon on 28 October resulted in an influx of migratory waterfowl in South Texas. Duck hunters are reporting exceptional numbers of Redheads, Widgeon, Teal, Mallards, Pintail, Shovelers, Gadwall and other species along the Texas coast. Some are saying it is the best seen in ten years.
However, we need rain soon to provide fresh-water ponds to hold the ducks for the winter. Good rain chances are forecast for next week so fingers are crossed. It is a fun time of year for waterfowl photography.
This group of Redheads flew over my deck on Sunday. Enjoy.

I can't walk in a straight line like that these days
Nice image, Bubba. We are in the worst drought in my lifetime here in SW Louisiana. If any one place here has water they surely will have a lot of ducks!

Thanks, Ken. Here's hoping this weekend will bring substantial rain to Louisiana and ease your drought.
