If P**********l e******ns were decided by the popular v**e, would that defeat: Gerrymandering, Winner Take All, E*******l College limitations?

In 7 of the last 8 P**********l e******ns Dems won the Popular v**e... or so I've heard. If that is true, I imagine the GOP might be opposed to such a suggestion.

Should the P**********l candidate with the most v**es become President?

"... [We are] a republic... if you can keep it" — September 17, 1787, Benjamin Franklin

If up to you, we would be a monarchy or a pure democracy which is just mob rule... All good if you are a member of the mob and short sighted.

Get over it.

... and if left up to you, the elected MAGAs and the Fundies we will become a theocracy. Viktor Orban's alt-democracy lite with Jesus.

What makes the “republic” aspect a better system… because the minority gets their way? Who’s to say that is right, or better?

State issues should be handled at the State level, but national/federal issues should be democratically decided. The Constitution is way short on defining national/federal issues, so by default everything else becomes a State issue. Time to modernize; you are more than 13 colonies arguing with the King of England.

How did we get the E*******l College?
The Founding Fathers established the E*******l College in the Constitution, in part, as a compromise between the e******n of the President by a v**e in Congress and the e******n of the President by a popular v**e of qualified citizens. However, the term “e*******l college” does not appear in the Constitution. Article II of the Constitution and the 12th Amendment refer to “e*****rs,” but not to the “e*******l college.”

Rick Santorum Says Quiet Part Out Loud After Republican E******n Losses
Republicans are annoyed that democracy is working.
https://newrepublic.com/post/176741/rick-santorum-blames-very-sexy-issue-a******n-republican-e******n-loss-democracy

“You put very sexy things like a******n and marijuana on the b****t, and a lot of young people come out and v**e. It was a secret sauce for disaster in Ohio,” Santorum whined Tuesday night on Newsmax.

“Thank goodness that most of the states in this country don’t allow you to put everything on the b****t, because pure democracies are not the way to run a country.”

We get a lot of this minority-party-rule dogma echoing around the Attic.

The MAGA-GOP party opposes any and all changes to the corrupt system that keeps them in power at state levels. They also oppose statehood for DC and Puerto Rico because that would give the Democrats an insurmountable lead in the senate. Puerto Rico and DC would EACH be entitled to two senators and the race-based agenda of the MAGA-GOP means even if they ran someone for a senate seat they would never win.

many less populated states have a great many democratic v**ers but with the e*******l college republicans get all the e*****rs. Also I believe their are special e*****rs that amount to giving every v**er in less populated state more weight in the e******n than each v**er in a more populated state. I can't swear to that, but I'm guessing you know. Seems v**es coming from each congressional district is a bad idea. It seems like it would give gerrymandering a major role in p**********l e******n.

Of course then, you go along with supporting the MOB mentality. Is that right John? Just because a larger number of people want something does that make their decision correct? Maybe you should just call it the Lemming form of government instead.

That is a complete lie and you know it. Right after Trump installed a number of Conservative SCOTUS Justices it was the Left, that would be YOU, who wanted to completely change the make up of SCOTUS to allow more Left Wing Justices. Please tell me this is not true so I can AGAIN call you a liar. Others will hopefully help me out here but it is the Left who wants to make changes to ensure their winning of e******ns. The Judge in Pennsylvania allowing mail in b****ts to be submitted longer than was legally enacted is another example.

Now what were you saying about the MAGA-GOP party and changes? Do you on the lying corrupt Left even have any idea of the level of your corruption. Hell, with your party corruption you make Joe Biden with his criminal acts and corruption seem to be an angel.
