In Johnsons defense, he checked the Bible and it didn't mention budgeting
We need a constitutional amendment or two to prevent the type of c**p, but in todays political climate, that can't happen.
It's pretty clear...Republicans are trying to figure out ways to compromise on the Democrat's desire to spend money we do not have. The operative words in this article: House of Representatives Republicans say their slim 221-212 majority will spend the coming week trying to pass full-year spending bills that
have no chance of clearing the Democratic-majority Senate..." .

I have no idea what the republicans are trying to do . What is obvious is that the v**ers see the republicans as unable to govern and that will probably cost them congress next year and probably the presidency. I hope yesterdays v**e demonstrated they are on the wrong political side on a******n . I’m not sure what they have to run on
Re the government funding . They have the majority so they need no democratic v**es at all. The ball is entirely in the republicans court. No need to try to shift blame .
They obviously are not that concerned with senate as they have already sent several bills over that have no chance .
It seems the are afraid of normal process of conference to work out differences

Why are they only deficit hawks when there is a Democratic President? When there is a Republican President in power, they spend like drunken sailors, and why do they want to defund IRS fraud inspectors who are expected to bring in a lot more funds than they will cost. Could it be that they have rich tax c***ters that are major donors? Just asking.

I just told you what they are trying to do. Find a compromise in the house. There's no shifting of blame. The Senate is holding things up. I have no idea why they can't work out differences in conference.

How would you know how drunken sailors spend, princess? Have you been a recipient of their largess in the past? Just asking.

Sorry I think you’re wrong see my revised posted. They have already sent bills to senate that have no chance.
What are they afraid of regulate order where house and senate conference on differences? House republicans wont even try . Heck they can even produce a bill they agree on .
Blaming the senate is like blaming the democrats for the speaker fiasco.

So why don't the house bills have a chance in the senate?

You do realize that house appropriations bill and senate bills never ever agree and nearly always gone to conference to work out differences.
This is routine action that should have taken place long.

I do realize that. Perhaps you know why they haven't been resolved in conference. It IS something that should have been resolved long ago.

In my opinion it is caused by the deep political divide that (1) caters to the extremes on both sides of the politics divide (2) the get re- elected at all
Cost both Al head of what best for the country.
The baseline process allows budget worker to go on much with debate EXCEPT for political driven issues.
Baseline budgeting originated in 1974 and since 1977 congress has passed a budget on time In only 4 years and all government shutdowns have happened in that time.
