I really need to work on my ID skills. Long legs=Fishing?
Eyes suggest Wolf? Row of 2 large eyes at top, 2nd row of 2 eyes below and then a row of 4 small eyes below that
I found it in my house in NJ if that's of any help but I'm sure there are many here who can ID at a glance.

It was also a fast little bugger. I put it in a pill bottle and set it on my picnic table for a while on a chilly morning which slowed it down a little.

Good set. This may help with the identification.

Thank you! I thought it was either a Wolf or a Fishing then I checked Google Images. The first image I used said Fishing Spider, the 2nd image Google told my Wolf. Same spider but different views. I think the one that came back as Wolf was the one that had the best view of the eyes

Wolf spider, I think genus Gladicosa. There are two species and it can be tricky telling them apart.

The upper frontal eyes are larger than the lower frontal eyes, and that is what IDs a wolf spider. The frontal eyes of fishing spiders/nursery web spiders are more equal in size. The fishing spider known as a dock spider has similar markings, and everyone gets fooled by that!

Thanks Mark. I knew I could count on you and a few others here to ID. While I was photographing I wasn't sure which it was, but when I viewed the eyes on the computer I was pretty sure it was a wolf because of a Nursery Web Spider picture you ID'd for me a couple of years ago. You told me about the eyes then.
