MiataCon...what fun.
This past weekend was the first annual MiataCon at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Connecticut. I went and had a wonderful time. The weather couldn't have been nicer. An unseasonable 80 degrees. I've never been a big fan of racing, but I've got to say that I enjoyed the racing that I witnessed for two glorious days. If you're into Miata's (and I am) this was the place to be. Hundreds of them racing, some on display and some like mine, just sitting in the parking lot. I talked to a number of old timers, like me (and older), and you'd be surprised at some of the stories they've got to tell. Old time hot-rodders that drove a Miata and fell in love. If you own or have driven one, I sure you know what I mean. If you haven't, you really should. I'd bet a quarter that you'd be pleasantly surprised. The only draw back is getting in and out for this 75 year older. Once I'm in there though, you won't catch me without a grin! God willing, I'll be there for many more. Here are a few photos from my day.
By the way, Miata holds the Guinness World Record as the highest-selling two seater sports car in the world.
Love the eyeballs in number 7.
Beautiful set. I sometime long for the earlier days when we drove our cars to Laguna Seca, did a quick tune up, taped up the headlights with black friction tape, put on a helmet and went racing.

I agree. That's why I took the photo. It caught my "eye".

What's the new avatar and what does it signify? I've been thinking of changing mine.
Nice array of shots.
I've always liked the Miata. A friend had one ( the folding hard top convertible ) that he wanted to sell. By the time I decided to buy it ( which I needed like a hole in the head ) a third friend beat me to it.

The folding hardtop was the first one that I owned Tom, back in 2018. Great car...great fun! As long as I'm driving I'll own one. I kicked myself the instant the new owner drove it away. After that I bought a Z4. Fast and beautiful but a money pit. Couldn't get rid of it quick enough and then I bought my present Miata. I've driven a lot of cars and I think you have also, and this is the most fun I've had behind the wheel.
