A blustery fall day! I love riding in the fall. I took a motorcycle ride to the local hangout. Saw some interesting hardware there.

Indeed some of us have fond memories of that bike. This one was the later version which was a 400.

Thanks! The new bikes all have electronic traction control now. Not this older one! The younger guys wonder how could anyone ride such an uncivilized beast? Well it still has traction control, it’s called a throttle. Lol.

That's a great looking RD400. I restored one several years ago, and it looked pretty good, but not nearly as nice as that one.

The owner was a younger guy and he spoke with a bit of a European accent. He said it took a while to restore. He bought it in 2013.

It's a long story, but in order to get mine registered, I had to find another frame for it, which was registered, no less, then transfer everything on the bike to that other frame. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, and upped the budget on the project by about $500 bucks!

Nice images. My first two bikes were Yammys - a 500cc which I later traded for a 750 triple, shaft drive. I loved that one. I only weighed about 145# at that time so those 750ccs would straighten my arms good when I twisted on the throttle.

you bought it because they gave you the shaft!

I remember that bike. I owned its bigger ancestor the XS1100.

I have been about 150 most of my life. I have always felt the 750 had the best balance of power and handling. I owned two GSXR750s loved them both. A ride on one always resulted in what I call “the GSXR grin”. That is the big smile you’re sporting when taking your helmet off after a ride on a “Gixxer”.
