Ah. Very nice!

It is definitely in the composite family, Asteracea. It is not a Coreopsis species, although that is a good guess. I thought it might be an Arnica species. There are quite a few of those found in Oregon, but none have foliage like your plant does. It is not a Helianthus species (sunflowers).

But I think I have a ID now. I believe it is Eriophyllum lanatum. That one is completely new to me. One of the common names for that species is "Oregon Sunshine." Great name!

That's my best guess. Nice image.

Thank you, Blenheim, I checked these out and will be ordering some seeds for next spring. Once established they are drought tolerant.

Thank you very much. Actually, it is a Bidens bipinanta.

Cheers,

Tony :)

Ha! Very good. That was another possibility. The foliage looked more like Eriophyllum lanatum to me, from what I could see of it. Interesting that the blossoms from 5 different genera are so similar - Coreopsis, Helianthus, Bidens, Arnica, and Eriophyllum.
