We finally received some rain the other day. It created a few pools where the vernal pools are located about 3 miles from my house. As I was walking the dog, I noticed the mating dances taking place and decided to lay down in the shallow water for about 40 minutes and capture some images I often find very difficult to capture. Hope you enjoy these. They turned out pretty good for the most part. Very shallow DOF though. I think they are Variegated Meadowhawks, but I will let Doc verify the species. The bobbing up and down as they touch the water's surface made for a challenging shoot. I thought I would throw in a shot of my assistant who thought the pools were great fun as well. Enjoy.

Those are some amazing shots. I see your assistant spent some time in the water too.

Thank you. Circe loves her water and finding sticks for me to throw. LOL

I was incredibly lucky to run across the subjects that worked with me better than most sightings. I have about 75 really sharp images from this shoot which is a very high % for this kind of subject.
