As an artist, I want to see beauty; I neither care nor need to know how it was created. As a photographer, I want to see beauty but want it to have started life as a square of film or data captured on a camera memory card.

It does not have to be strictly "reality" to be beautiful.

I don’t “cater to colonoscopy”….. Stating that “colonoscopy imaging is a form of photography” is my way of reminding folks to stop generalizing and recognize that there are many different types of photography.
