The catbird, phoebe, cardinal and hummingbird are all visitors to my yard. Several years ago, I was using a circular saw in my back yard. As I operated the saw, I noticed a bird in my peripheral vision. Once i began to pay attention, it turned out to be a phoebe who was trying to catch my wood chips. He was a bold little bird.
Our hummingbird migration was rather extreme this year. It lasted through most of September and my wife used about fourteen pounds of sugar making nectar. Early in September I saw a rufous hummingbird which is unusual, but I failed to get a picture. Most of the hummingbirds have moved on, but there are a couple of stragglers.
I like the photos, Dan. Pretty sure that's a Ruby Throated Hummer!
