From Wikipedia: "A group of vultures is called a wake, committee, venue, kettle, or volt. The term kettle refers to vultures in flight, while committee, volt, and venue refer to vultures resting in trees. Wake is reserved for a group of vultures that are feeding."
I was driving through Northeast Tennessee and I noticed there was a state park right next to the highway. I stopped for a quick look (was on my way to a job site) and was surprised to find what looked like about twenty to thirty Black Vultures just hanging out on the tops of the boat docks and dock lamps there. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay very long but snapped off several shots before I had to move on.

Thanks DigitalDon ... they obviously were used to people being close and didn't really pay much attention to me. I really wish I had more time to spend there.

Thanks Macromad, and good question. They were pretty docile like they had just finished a big meal, but there were none feeding anywhere nearby that I could see. Very strange!
