She spent about 10 minutes searching for her tennis ball. Instead of bringing it to me to play, she decided to lie down with it and look at me with a 'no body will play with me' look.

LOL I would love to play fetch with her except for one thing. My grandson taught to play human fetch the ball and keep away. If I reach for the ball she picks it up, gives it a couple of squeaks and moves out of reach and lays down with the same look.

I've had quite a few German Shepherds in my life. I wish I had room for one know. They know just how to give you the "sad" look. It sure always worked on me. You have a beautiful companion.
