Hi my HOG friends. Quick question. Does anyone else sell digital and also have a site that you sell prints, gallery wraps, etc. I sell on MaxPreps.com. Their prices are set at three different levels for small, medium, large pixel sizes. If you do also what do you price all of your prints etc for? Thanks BE SAFE!!

I sell online, in galleries, and at art shows/tent shows. You can check my website for pricing. I have to discount heavily at tent shows because of the competition. Marketing is your best friend!

Went to your website. Your photos are just ok. LOL.LOL.WOW!! Your photos are all amazing, I love every thing about them, wish mine were as good as yours. What I was getting at is I sell my photos with MaxPreps.com. Their Large pixel 3000 x 2216 digital downloads ( they only offer digital downloads at this time) they sell for $27.00 after you sign up you get 10% discount. OK that said say my customer buys one and then they want to go to my website and purchase prints etc. Say my 8 x 12 print sells for $36.00. That will be $27.00 + $36.00 + maybe $7.50 shipping. That is $70.50 for an 8 x 12 print. Would you pay that?? Thanks BE SAFE!!

Would anyone else pay that. Chime in HOGS.

I don't sell digital downloads per se, so I can't speak to that. If someone has one, can't they do their own printing? If they're using the print for the wall and the download for a display, then in essence they are buying two different applications, and the price is justified.

And thanks so much for your kind comments on my work.

Yes. They take my photo download and do whatever they want. The money we get from MaxPreps.com we keep all the money, so we get the $27.00 minus a small transaction fee they charge ($1.99). It just seems like a lot of money to do that. Thanks BE SAFE!!

I use PixieSet
You have the option to set your own pricing based on % typically.

I keep my digital DL prices low for my wrestling kids. But I have a special case with them. I shoot for them all season, and proceeds after my costs are covered I donate back to the team itself at the awards banquet.

Beyond that special circumstance, i typically keep downloads around $6-10. I also really try to lead my customers away from buying prints directly off the site. The markup is low and shipping is ridiculous. If someone wants a special print I do that in house if possible but most parents buy the download and send it off to CVS/Walgreens to print.
