Not much activity here lately. Here are my ten favorite IR photos since I last posted in May. Many of the color IR photos I see seem like weird colors for the sake of weird colors, or only have one or two colors predominate. I try for a color palette which is surreal but harmonious, and has many colors. I don't want them too far out, which is why I like the red/blue channel swap so I get blue skies, but not necessarily a natural blue. Somebody once said they look like they were shot on another planet, which I liked even though I intend that. All of these have a flash fill.
I, for one, love them all! The more colorful the better. I so want to be able to create photos like these. Any tips that you can offer a newbie to IR?

I control color in several ways. My camera was converted with Lifepixel's Enhanced Color Filter (665). It lets in a mixture of IR and visible light. I use a custom white balance on sunlit green grass. That works for most of my IR captures. I use Nikon NXStudio if I want to tweak white balance as Photoshop/Lightroom is not very good for setting IR WB. It has a eyedropper tool to set WB anywhere in the image. After that I process in Photoshop, setting up the Red/Blue channel swap, and then most of my color adjustment is through a Hue/Saturation layer where I move the sliders for each individual color. I also frequently use a Curves layer to change overall color balance.

Thx John, I’ll have to look through things. I also had a camera converted by Lifepixel with the Enhanced Color Filter (665). I haven’t tried any processing yet. Have access to Lightroom and Photoshop but not Nikon NXStudio. Will have to look into that as needed. Thx again for the tips!
" color palette which is surreal but harmonious," You achieved your goal well.
Your useful how2 description while useful is worthy of a step-wise tutorial. That would be a charitable service to the many would be IR people.
"Enhanced filter" ..."The Enhanced Color IR filter transmits a bit more of the visible red light than our standard filter, it’s 50% pass frequency is 665nm..." "passes more visible red light the resulting IR images have more color in them. Not only is the color in the sky, it’s also in the foliage as well. Both can be manipulated in Photoshop to produce a very unique result."
