The phrase, "Physician, heal thyself" comes to mind. The local store says it will be business as usual while the process continues. Rite-Aid will probably rearrange itself and stay in business. Without Rite-Aid, CVS will have more control of the market.

After having worked in several chain pharmacy stores, I had had enough. Now I work in a major NYC hospital. Much easier and less stressful lifestyle.

I used to have to get my Rx from CVS - not a great experience. The insurance company switched to Walmart, and the delivery by mail has been good so far.

Years ago my insurance switched from Rite-Aid to CVS....

Musical Rx's......

I haven't had a problem with CVS yet.

Hard to be sympathetic with Rite-Aid. In the '90's, their business model was to put a store in every small town and undersell local Mom & Pop pharmacies, forcing them out of business. After they accrued all the closed pharmacies' customers, Rite-Aid would close most of their local stores forcing customers to drive long distances to a central, larger Rite-Aid in another town. Now they can't compete with CVS and Wahlgrens? Too bad.

I don't understand why people continue to go to brick and mortar pharmacies when you can get prescriptions by mail.

Maybe to help keep stores open?

If we got everything by mail/delivery, we would no longer need stores.....

plus you can't talk to a pharmacist by mail to learn about the side effects of the medication, and before someone says the DR. should tell you about the side effects, the Drs usually doesn't know but a pharmacist will.

That's for new prescriptions, which I haven't had for some time. And if I get a new prescription I fill it at a pharmacy to get it started immediately. For refills, mail order saves a lot of trips to the drug store and waiting in line.

Just think, if everything was mail order and there were no stores, we'd never have to leave the house.
We wouldn't even have to go to a destination to get a souvenir, just mail order one.
Think of all that gas we would be saving!!!!!

(I hope the food store guy picks out good peaches and cantaloupe for me.......)

I've never had groceries delivered, even during Covid, for that reason.

So I guess mail order doesn't work for everything or everyone.......

My prescription refills go in my mailbox, so I don't have to be there. Anything that I would have to be home most of the day to receive and avoid porch piracy I buy locally if I can find it.

I'll go to a couple of stores first.
If I can't find what I want, then I'll order it on-line.
Unfortunately, more stores are carrying less.
