This was taken a couple years ago. The scene caught my eye due to some Christmas lights playing around and behind the tree. I used in-camera movement due to hand holding in low light. I didn't like some of the stringy squiggles in the light areas so I put it into Photoshop and gently blended in a couple color filters, then a blur layer to smooth it out a bit. Comments/suggestions always welcome.

It's a very engaging image for the lack of detail presented in vibrant colors. The hint of reflection at the bottom that blends smoothly into the rest adds to the mysterious feel of depth and softness.

The brightest area is on the right edge of the frame, so that's where my attention went first. Not sure if it matters, though I kind of wanted to dive into the center initially

Thank you, I see what you mean. I'll work on that a bit. Appreciate your comments.

Really nicely done Bev it would make a really nice background/overlay. Would you consider letting Linda post it in the background collection for us to use?

"It's a very engaging image for the lack of detail presented in vibrant colors. This photo is one that would say something different to the viewer depending on the viewer's mood... vague but real enough to suggest.

This and perhaps two others applying the Warhol same photo with differing colors much-copied theme. [automatic 9 colors in Lunapic]. Very useful over the sofa to test the reaction of a new potential friend and their interpretation... "I like the blue one it suits my [depressed] mood or the person [manic depressive] who would say sometimes I like the ultra-bright yellow. Or the person who would say all are gray... poor soul is color blind.

A lovely result that could be presented on its own, as here, used as an Overlay or for a composite - perhaps with a scary figure lurking in the woods. Of course, I’d go for the latter (and I’m pretty sure Curmudgeon would be there ahead of me!).

An interesting idea to use it to check out other peoples moods. Thanks for your comments. Wonder what it says about me since I left it in reds and blues..........OK, no going there.

Of course you'd go with the latter and do a great job with it. Thanks for your comments. Bev

All set. Thanks Bev.

Jack and all, the thread is not locked. Anyone can add to the library. Dave Chinn did yesterday. Check 'em out:

It's lovely, and I like the color choices. I might darken the bottom just a tad. It looks like a dry brush abstract.

Thank you for checking, appreciate your comments. The original scene had bushes on the right side and behind the tree, and it was winter, so no leaves. I'll try darkening the bottom.

I think you did a great job with the blending of colors. One could almost add some anonymous shapes as to imply something happening in the background. The darkening at the bottom implys,to me, the grounding of such figures.
great job!
