Nope! I don't think so. I am sure Ken Burns knows they were Bisons but he wanted to call them the "American Buffalo". He wanted to connect them to the American history and landscape.

Will the series be shown on public or cable tv? If so, what channel? I have seen all of his series; liked them all. Plus, I need to take a break from Israeli-Hamas news breaks.

It's on PBS. Check your local station as they show things at different times. I have it scheduled to record.
