Back home from my summer escape and had the first opportunity to photograph NCSU volleyball as they took on Wake Forest, winning 3 sets to 1. A few of my favorites attached, along with a link to the remainder on my website.
Shot with a Z9 and the new Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lens. Most shot around 1/1250, as wide open as the focal length would allow. Auto ISO running from about 3600-6400. Really like the new lens!

Excellent action shooting 🤍🤍🥇🤍🤍
Great work Rick. Volleyball is tough to shoot. The light sucks in most gyms. Don't have the equipment you do but tried shooting my grand-daughter in AAU games in Orlando a couple of years ago, tough shoot.

https://rickcornell.zenfolio.com/p953241585Great shots Rick you did very well. Never shot at a college. Is they're lighting any better than high school gyms? Post more when you can. Thanks BE SAFE!!
Tom
Thanks, Tom. I only have experience with a couple of colleges. One is a junior college and its lighting is better than the local high school. This college (NC State) is MUCH better than either of the other two. Or I may be getting smarter about the settings I use! LOL. More to come from Sunday's game.

https://rickcornell.zenfolio.com/p953241585Wow - they're all perfect. I love how you got the eyes looking at the ball and the viewer. I need to learn how to do that.

Thank you. It is a mixed blessing. It is so nice being able to get that close as well as interact with players, coaches and even officials. BUT - it has ruined me for being able to be in the stands to watch games!!!

Thank you. Catching the eyes like that is kind of a one-two effort. First, I use burst mode. Second I follow the action as much as I am able, so I am prepared when a player gets their chance. Experience helps a lot.
