While checking cattle in Wyoming I saw some beautiful yellow weeds. Imagine my happy surprise when I saw this bug on one of the flowers. Of course I have no idea what it is but someone will.

I've seen those but I don't know what they are.

Thanks very much. Me TOO but that's my problem, now knowing what it is.

Very interesting and nice shot. Possibly a moth in the Crambidae family. Hopefully the experts will check in.

Definitely a moth, but I don't know more for ID. The 'nose' is actually the maxillary palpi, a pair of jointed appendages associated with feeding, probably bearing 'smell' sensory setae, though not a 'protrusion' of the 'face'.

Thank you very much for the comment. I see relbugman did post a bit later than you. I am not surprised we have some real experts on this forum for situations just like this.

Thank you relbugman for taking a look and for contributing to the name. The name, moth, is good for me. Anything else and I won't remember 20 minutes later. Interesting about the maxillary palpi.

Looks like a Grass-Veneer Moth - (Agriphila spp.) (spp. because I'm not sure of the species)
