While still in the lower peninsula of Michigan we are farther north than Bangor, Maine. Many people in the "lower 48" do not realize how far north Michigan extends. My friends in Cincinnati, Ohio are closer to Detroit, MI than are the people of Traverse City, MI. The auroras here are as good as they get. Still, as remote as we are we still are bothered by "dirty light" in the night skies. Green Bay, WI shines in our western sky all night and it is 60 miles across Big Blue.
Beautiful. I guess I'll never see one. I live in Louisiana.
