This image was taken sometime ago. It was originally in color but was converted to B & W using Adobe Camera Raw. This needs to be viewed in download otherwise the image looks washed out. I've never understood why there is a difference in the appearance of an image between the original post and the downloaded image but there is.

Expected something completely different - an exterior shot.
But I really like this. A virtual absence of shadow and good contrast with no harshness.

(I have to admit to it being unlikely that I would have seen this under the old format. I'd have spent longer on more favoured subjects and not got to B&W.)

This is a warm and welcoming scene, with lots of attractive shapes and tones.

I don't see a difference between thumbnail and dowload. However, the UHH feature of displaying the image on black background (clicking the pic itself) often makes a difference - especially with b&w photos.

I like this--nice work, and I have noticed the same result with some of my downloads. Can we classify this one as a still life?

This shot reminds me of stuff I do when playing around with a D.Camera in different settings to get a feel of how the camera/image reacts.
~ Sometimes I end up with an image that I think... "that's kind'a cool!"

This image has THAT quality - of coolness, AND being quite well done in the process!
...also, I hadn't really paid much attention to the quality difference in the "download" view. I most certainly will REMEMBER it now. Oh, my!!
