The light source on the sails is coming from a different direction than the sun we see in your composite

As is the missed replacement of water in another light between sail and boat ...

Hmmm.
I hadn't noticed the "anomalies".
I just viewed the image on it's own merit.

A frequent topic of discussion on UHH: whether to reveal sky replacements or other composite work.

As part of my own viewing of an image's merit, I consider light source a major factor - whether it's a composite or not.

Mark's idea is marvelous, the execution needs practice. I'm saying this as someone who is barely competent with composites, btw!

I've not tried a composite yet.

The "images" were from 2014. I had taken a series of the setting sun and bridge. Prior to that I noticed the sailboat and took a few shots. As I was processing the RAW images, I had a vision of the sailboat in the foreground and the bridge and setting sun in the background. I selected the sailboat and pasted it in one of the images of the sunset and bridge. I did not worry too much about the "anomalies" of light source. I just liked the result, so I shared it with my UHH friends. I am far from a talented or even accomplished photographer. I just enjoy photography! (and of course, music).

Thanks for your observations, comments and valid criticisms. In retrospect, I learned to be aware of light sources. However, I still like the scene.
