Assassin Bugs

These were on one of my doors yesterday afternoon. I think they are assassin bugs.

They are box elder bugs. Sometimes confused with milkweed bugs. Great shots!

This time of year Boxelder bugs will gather in spots where it is warm, and they can do so in significant numbers.

Thanks Doc. I appreciate you taking a look and commenting. Are they any relation to assassin bugs? I did look them up and they appeared to be in the same area as assassin bugs.

My apologies to all if they are not related to assassin bugs.

They are both in the sub-order Heteroptera but from ther the taxonomic tree branches off.

Good find, Dennis. Box Elders and Milkweed Bugs look quite similar except one has red eyes and the other has black eyes.
