Tuesday morning I was out in my garage early feeding my dog, having my coffee and listening to the radio when the local news announced that as a result of the last couple of storms the water was back in the big waterfalls. Tuesday was to be the one day break between storms, so I loaded up my gear and headed for Yosemite. It is almost in my back yard, with the entire trip being 170 miles round trip.
There were still a fair amount of fall colors to shoot, the big water falls were great, and half dome had snow on its top. What really surprised me were all the people that were there, even with the icy roads, on a Tuesday in November.
Here are a few of the many images that I took. As always, your comments and/or questions more than welcome.
And Happy Thanksgiving to one and all. . .

Thank you. You posted your comment before I got all of the selected images uploaded. The funny thing about living so close is that I never go.

Thank you Karl. Again, you got your post in before I was finished uploading. Hope you will check back.
I have only been twice and neither time was the trip long enough. Your images make me long to go back.

The funny thing is that the last time I was in Yosemite Valley was in April of 1977. . .and I live only an hour away.

That is really sad, but it does tend to happen. My daughter spent a year and a half working up there and only went into the valley to do some photography once and did very little hiking while she was there. When she knew she was coming back home she was rushing around to see some of the area she didn't see every day.
I have tried to make it a point to visit local areas, but some how they just don't cut it compared to those granite giants.

Oh I go to Yosemite (it is a very big park of course); however, since almost visitors head for Yosemite Valley, I stay out of the valley. I have never gone during the summer. It isn't that I don't like people. . .I just don't like to be anywhere near them! (demonic grin)
Great series. Fantastic falls, nice borders and I like the infrared shot (I usually am not a big fan). Nice post!
Some more REALLY good ones, Ken!

Thank you. I know what you mean about the color infrared, it has to be used with restraint and limits. Too much is just that. . .too much. It does not work for all subjects, but it is fun when it does work.
