Craig's List and Ebay

I listed a generator on both Craig's list and Ebay. No bites for over a week until someone who saw the Craig's List posting purchased it. Since it never sold via Ebay, do I still owe them a commission? I'm sure this is not an unusual situation and since I didn't read 12 pages of Ebay's fine print, I'm wondering how it's handled..

Why would they get a commission? It wasn't sold on Ebay.
Just withdraw the ad.

I think you have to pay them the listing fee but not the 10% of the purchase price as you didn't sell thru Ebay.

Only if your item sold through eBay will you be charged.

If you remove the item from eBay they should not charge you for selling the item.

When you purchase things from eBay they charge Sales Tax on the merchandise and on the shipping costs.

So I quit using eBay and look for items on Craigslist and some of the sellers are not charging Sales Tax.

I recently moved and had to downsize and get rid of a lot of stuff. I put a bunch of it on eBay and none was sold. One item had a nice bid which I accepted and they accepted and never heard another word. Canceled all ads and called the Salvation Army and the junk man. Done with it

Ebay went way down in my opinion when they changed the way they charge for selling items. Some people have success via ebay, but small sellers don't generally do as well. Just what I've heard.

You owe Ebay nothing. Simply delete your listing.

I hate eBay but I have over 17,000 listings and it's supporting 7 people with a decent job so here I am.
