History In A Garden

Thorny Devil Loc: Alice Springs, Central Australia

While my wife and I were touring around South Australia in 2018 we stopped to have a look around Eudunda, a small country town in the middle of wheat and sheep country about 110km (68 miles) north-east of Adelaide.

We were particularly interested in visiting the town's multi-award winning Centenary and Memorial Gards in which a travel brochure told us that: “A special feature of the garden is a stone shelter with tiles on the walls made by local people and school children telling stories of transport in the area during the last 100 years.”

The following images are some examples of the artwork and historical storytelling created by the local people.

WOW! A lot of history and effort went into that. Great photography getting it clear enough to read.

Fascinating stuff!! I was in Australia a few years ago, but not nearly long enough! I didn't see this part of your beautiful country. I guess there's more to see than the Great Barrier Reef, huh?

Thank you for your comments CPO.There is certainly a lot to see, I have spent over 70 years exploring Australia and I feel that I have only scratched the surface.

That is by far the most amazing project I have ever seen. It takes the words "community awareness" to a whole new level. If you have any more shot please post them
