Out for a morning walk, saw the sun and shadows on these steps and thought this would make an interesting B/W….and waited until a subject was at the top.....

On her phone...surprise

A very pleasing and effective composition. Were you familiar with the scene? Looks like a place that would require going back several times, or really "working" it to achieve the results you have.

Hi Linda....this location is actually in the park...near the "Just Walking" and "Playful Couple" photos that I posted earlier. I took a few shots at different angles to capture the sun and shadows as it shined on the right-angle of the stairs. It just worked....

Nice! These steps invite more visits and play with the suns position.

Very nice contrast, the figure at the top of the steps really makes the composition. You maximized being in the right place at the right time :-)

Good News…my new Wide Angle Conversion lens (WCL) arrived 4 days earlier than expected from Amazon! Of course, I unpacked it immediately, attached it to the camera (Fuji-X100V) with excitement, and went out to the park to shoot. (GAS relief!). The lens proved to be great…but when I past the same site of “12 Sunny Steps at 9:30AM”;…this is the change I (sadly) saw from a different angle and time (2:23PM) of day

Hi Topcat....the defacement of the wall wasn't present when the first shot was taken....the graffiti was done a day after the war in the Middle East broke out. I just hate a good photo spot was temporarily ruined.....(the city will quickly clean it off).
