10 Stop 3

This afternoon I went out to Kanaskat-Palmer State Park with my Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G using the 10 Stop neutral density filter.

This time I took my ankle weights to weigh down the tripod while it was in water.

I believe it made a difference. Some of these were taken with the tripod on land and others it was in water.

Can you tell which is which?

Enjoy if you can.

Aside from the shallow depth of field, it looks to me that you also have some wind and it made the trees in the background smudged as well.

If you want sharper backgrounds, a smaller aperture and taking photos early in the day when the air is still would be the ticket. In the wind, taking a photo with a fast shutter and no filter then masking that over the filtered ones will give you sharper backgrounds.

It’s hard to tell, but from where it appears the camera was place, I’d say that 2, 3, and 5 were taken from dry ground, the others from in the water. #1 is the sharpest shot, but appears that the tripod was placed in a place of calm water. How am doing here Vaun?

Thanks for looking and attempting to figure out the placement of the tripod. You've actually come very close, #7 was one leg in the water and the other two on land, kind of tricky perhaps.

#1 was indeed in calm water.

Not a bad guess.
